Dr. Steven Fineman founded Sarasota Personal Medicine with a clear vision: every patient deserves genuine time, direct access, and a physician who knows them well. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Indiana University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Fineman completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital under a Harvard Medical School appointment. He pursued a two-year nephrology fellowship at Emory University, then added a third year of nephrology transplant training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He holds board certification in both internal medicine and nephrology. At Sarasota Memorial Hospital, he currently serves on the credentials committee and previously chaired the department of medicine. He has called Sarasota home for more than 20 years. Outside of medicine, he enjoys bicycling, staying active, and landscape photography from his travels.
