Robert L. Ruxin earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Dartmouth College, graduating cum laude with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa in 1967. He then earned his MD from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1971. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospitals, Johns Hopkins Medical School, followed by a senior residency at Dartmouth College Affiliated Hospitals. S. Navy at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, from 1974 to 1976.

Dr. Ruxin holds board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine with Advanced Achievement in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, along with certification in Geriatric Medicine and National Certification from the Board of Diabetes Educators. He has served as a Teaching Attending at Danbury Hospital since 1976.
