About
Dr. Rafael Huezo founded Mint Health Clinics Bakersfield to deliver highly personalized primary care to his community. He earned his medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in 2010. That scholarship brought him to Kern County in 2013, where he built his career and planted roots.
Early in his career, colleagues recognized Dr. Huezo with a Rookie of the Year award. He later served as Chief Medical Officer for one of the largest nonprofit health organizations in California. His clinical interests span preventive medicine, chronic disease management, urgent care, and geriatrics. Outside medicine, he lives in Bakersfield with his wife, Dr. Margarita Huezo, and their two sons. He enjoys reading, music, and sports. Long before medical school, he was his high school's valedictorian, an Eagle Scout, and Drum Major for one of California's top-ranked marching bands.
