Dr. Roy earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981. She completed her Family Medicine internship at Muskegon General Hospital, now Mercy Health Muskegon, in 1982. She has practiced in Muskegon ever since.

Dr. Roy has practiced at the same Muskegon location for over 35 years. She has lived in Muskegon her entire life. That longevity gives her deep ties to the local medical community and established relationships with many area specialists.

Dr. Roy holds a hospital affiliation with Mercy Health Muskegon. She completed her Family Medicine internship at that same institution, then known as Muskegon General Hospital.

Dr. Roy serves on the Board of Directors of the West Michigan Osteopathic Association and has served as its Treasurer since 1992. She co-founded the Osteopathic Foundation of West Michigan and participates in its Osteo-Scholars Program. She also contributes to the Lyme Disease Surveillance Project through the Michigan Department of Public Health.
