Dr. Orin Hansen grew up on a ranch in southeastern Montana and graduated from CCHS in Ekalaka. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. He then pursued his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine, graduating in 2017. He completed his family medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center in California in 2020. The American Board of Family Medicine board-certified him following residency.

After training in California, Dr. Hansen chose to return to Montana and settle in Bighorn County to raise his family. He specializes in disease prevention and first-line treatment for patients of all ages and genders. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, behavioral health, and nutritional medicine. He founded Western Medicine as a DPC practice to bring affordable, accessible care to rural eastern Montana. A deep passion for the culture and history of the American West shapes how he approaches his community and his patients. Western Medicine does not prescribe chronic controlled substances.
