About
Dr. Nikhila Schroeder brings a uniquely broad scientific background to allergy and immunology care. Before earning her medical degree, she completed both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with concentrations in biomedical engineering and music. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2009, then moved to Charlottesville, Virginia for her training. She completed a Pediatrics Residency at the University of Virginia in 2012 and an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship there in 2014. Dr. Schroeder holds board certification in both Allergy and Immunology, covering adult and pediatric patients, and in Pediatrics.
Her fellowship sparked a deep interest in immune-modifying treatments, particularly sublingual immunotherapy. She pursued that focus directly after training, joining Allergy Associates of La Crosse from 2014 to 2017. There, she treated nearly 1,000 patients with sublingual immunotherapy from all over the country. That experience shaped the foundation of Allergenuity Health, which she and her husband James opened in Huntersville in 2018. Dr. Schroeder treats environmental allergies, food allergies, asthma, and drug allergies. She takes an integrative approach to care and puts a strong patient-physician relationship at the center of every treatment plan. Outside the practice, she keeps music alive through singing and playing the ukelele, and she cherishes time cooking, traveling, and being with her family.

Patients traveling from outside the Charlotte area are welcome, and the practice provides resources to help with logistics.
