Dr. Nicole RothenbergMD

Dr. Nicole Rothenberg earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Pre-Med from Wayne State University in 2002, then returned there for her Doctorate of Medicine in 2006. She completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at Providence Hospital in Southfield, serving as Chief Resident from 2007 to 2009. Her passion for medicine took root at age nine and has guided every stage of her career since.

After residency, Dr. Rothenberg built a large private practice before moving into academic medicine. She served as obstetrics faculty at the Providence Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program from 2009 to 2024. She also holds roles as Core Family Medicine and Obstetrics Faculty and Site Medical Director at the Trinity Health Family Medicine Residency Program. Her teaching earned her recognition including the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from St. Mary Mercy Hospital, the Physician Excellence Award from Ascension, and multiple residency faculty teaching honors. She holds board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine and belongs to both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Rothenberg cares for patients across every life stage, from newborns through geriatrics. Her clinical interests include preventive health, women's and men's health, obstetrics, pediatrics, postpartum care, menopausal management, and in-office procedures. She blends traditional medical approaches with alternative therapies when the situation calls for it. Patients consistently note her empathy, interpersonal warmth, and genuine curiosity about their lives. Outside the office, she volunteers with Yad Ezra Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, the Community Garden Program, and Mitzvah Day. She has two teenagers and brings that parenting experience into conversations with patients raising kids. She also enjoys hiking, healthy cooking, dancing, live music, and time with family and friends.
