Dr. Nathaniel R. De La Cruz is a board-certified family medicine physician serving the Rio Grande Valley community he grew up in. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medical Biology from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg in 2011. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2015. He then continued his Family Medicine residency at UTMB, where colleagues selected him as Chief Resident for the 2017-2018 academic year. He graduated from that program in 2018.

After residency, Dr. De La Cruz returned to the RGV and provided care in Mission, TX before taking on traveling clinic work from 2020 to 2022 in San Antonio, Houston, and Round Rock. He also contributed to COVID vaccine clinical trials in San Antonio in 2021. The American Board of Family Medicine has certified him in his specialty. He holds a Volunteer Faculty appointment at the UTRGV School of Medicine in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. He welcomes medical students, NP students, and PA students to train at the clinic. Outside of medicine, he spends his free time camping, fishing, kayaking, and practicing archery.
