Dr. Monte Uyemura graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1989. He completed his internship at Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia. His family medicine residency followed at Madigan Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis, Washington. After residency, he served four years as a family physician at Fort Riley, Kansas. He received an honorable discharge in 1996 as a Major in the United States Army.

Dr. Uyemura has practiced family medicine in Wray, Colorado since that discharge. He holds board certification in family medicine.
