Dr. Michele Peterson is a board-eligible pediatrician who grew up in the Twin Cities and has devoted her career to children's health. She earned her BA in Biology from Hamline University in 1993 and her MD from the University of Minnesota in 1997. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota in 2000. Before launching Complex Care Pediatrics, she spent 20 years practicing within large healthcare systems.
Dr. Peterson traces her passion for medically complex children to the very start of her career. She served as the sole PCA for a terminally ill child named Jennifer, and credits Jennie with shaping her understanding of medically fragile care more than any other experience. She has received recognition as a top physician every year from 2016 through 2024. Outside medicine, she enjoys traveling, swimming, skiing, biking, and walking her dogs Lucy and Ginger with her husband Ken and their grown children Lucas and Emily.
