About

Dr. Michael O'Neal grew up in Minnesota, where his father, a biology professor, sparked an early curiosity for science. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Florida before completing medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His residency in family medicine took place at the USF College of Medicine, where his peers elected him Chief Resident. He later held a teaching position in the Department of Family Medicine at USF.

Dr. O'Neal holds board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Physicians. He has published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and received numerous awards for research and contributions to medical student education. One of only 15 physicians nationwide to earn the AMA Young Physician Leadership Award, he also ranked among six finalists for the Tampa Bay Business Journal Health Care Hero award from a pool of 400 nominees. S. and Canada to watch in 2012. He served as team physician for the Toronto Blue Jays for six years and has cared for elite athletes across MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, and PGA, as well as former Olympians and A-list celebrities. In 2010, he co-founded Physicians Nutraceutical Concepts, developing the BodyCustom supplement line, which carries NSF Certified for Sport status. He participated in a medical mission to Ecuador and volunteered at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Tampa early in his career.
