B. Alexander High School Magnet for Health and Sciences before earning her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M International University. She went on to Texas A&M College of Medicine and then completed her Family Medicine residency at Christus Santa Rosa in San Antonio, where she served as Chief Resident. She passed her board certification in Family Medicine in 2016 and holds that certification in active status today.

After residency, Dr. Martin joined the faculty at the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency for two years. She then returned to her hometown to help launch the Family Medicine residency program at Laredo Medical Center, where she served first as Associate Program Director and then as Program Director for five years. She also cared for patients at Gateway Community Health Center during that time. In December 2023, she earned board certification in Lifestyle Medicine. She opened Axis Direct Care in early 2024, focusing on family medicine, functional medicine, weight management, and chronic disease management. Dr. Martin is passionate about identifying root causes of illness, including gut microbiome imbalances, hormone irregularities, and nutritional deficiencies, and helping patients build lasting health through evidence-based lifestyle change.
