Dr. Mark Kiefer earned his B.S. in Biology from James Madison University in 1990 and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1994. He completed his Family Medicine residency at U.S. Naval Hospital Pensacola, where he was selected as Chief Resident in 1997. He also served as a Clinical Instructor and Staff Family Physician at Pensacola through 2001 and earned the Family Medicine Teacher of the Year award that same year. The Navy recognized his contributions with two Navy Commendation Medals.

Dr. Kiefer holds board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine and has practiced family medicine in Lincolnton since 2001. He co-founded Family Medicine Associates of Lincoln County in 2004.
