About
Dr. Leigh LoPresti graduated from the UVM College of Medicine in 1983 and completed his Family Medicine residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in 1986. He has held continuous board certification in Family Medicine ever since. His career spans nearly four decades and three distinct phases of practice. He worked in two HMOs in Massachusetts and Minnesota from 1986 to 1991. He then returned to Manchester Center for a decade of private practice before transitioning to teaching appointments from 2001 to 2010, where he mentored residents and medical students and completed a research fellowship. He has published nine articles in the medical literature.
Dr. LoPresti tells everyone he teaches that family medicine is the most fun you can have with a medical license. He founded Manchester Direct Family Practice in 2024, thrilled to return to a community he knows well. Born and raised on Long Island, he has called Vermont home for most of his career. He is a widower with two cherished daughters, and the family traveled together to all 50 states over 13 years. He pioneered a business membership model in the 1990s with the Vermont Country Store — a model that now underpins his current DPC practice.
