About
Dr. Katherine Welch earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2000. Immediately after residency, she began medical mission work in Thailand, then China. Over the next 22 years, she lived and practiced across Asia and Europe, serving patients in more than 25 countries.
Dr. Welch founded Relentless in 2011 to address health needs at the intersection of medicine and human trafficking. She built survivor assistance programs, equipped medical peers, and provided direct clinical care to survivors in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Berlin, Kunming, and beyond. She relocated to Indianapolis in 2022 and established Imago Dei Restorative Health to bring that depth of experience to her home state. She holds membership in the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS) and earned Senior Fellow status with the Independent Medical Alliance (IMA) in February 2025. She currently pursues a year-long Functional Pediatric Psychiatry Fellowship through Psychiatry Redefined. Her clinical passions include pediatric special needs, functional psychiatry covering ADHD, anxiety, depression, and OCD, long-Covid and long-Vax care, neurofeedback, red light therapy, and travel medicine. She also serves as a core clinician of the Resilience Health Network. Outside the clinic, Dr. Welch is an accomplished ultra-marathon runner. She took first place female at the Indiana Trail 100 in 2019, finishing 100 miles in 19 hours and 42 minutes. She won the 2023 Glacial Esker 24-hour race outright, out-distancing all competitors. She holds active medical licenses in Indiana and Michigan.
