Dr. John WoodwardMD

Dr. John Woodward serves as Medical Director of OPTI Health Lake Norman, leading its functional and integrative medicine program. He holds board certifications in both family medicine and integrative and holistic medicine. His academic credentials include a Fellowship in Metabolic and Regenerative Medicine and a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Cardiac Rehabilitation. He also completed extensive post-graduate training in functional medicine.

Dr. Woodward believes true wellness extends beyond the absence of disease. He works to help patients thrive across every dimension of health, not just manage symptoms. His clinical focus spans hormone optimization, nutrition planning, fitness coaching, cognitive health support, gut health, and advanced cardiometabolic care. He takes an individualized, forward-thinking approach with each patient, partnering with them to teach, guide, and treat. His passion for lifestyle and functional medicine shapes every aspect of his work at the practice.
