About
Dr. Jeffrey Bloom grew up watching patients visit his father's home office and knew early on he wanted to practice medicine. His father worked as a sub-specialist and rarely built lasting bonds with patients. That observation drove Dr. Bloom toward Primary Care and Internal Medicine, where long-term relationships sit at the center of the work.
He earned his undergraduate degree at Brown University and his medical degree at NYU School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at USC's Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on California's Central Coast, where he eventually settled. Early in his career, he moonlighted at Vandenberg Air Force Base and local emergency rooms to pay down medical school debt. Dr. Bloom contributed a published response to the New England Journal of Medicine on the topic of Vitamin D supplementation. Outside medicine, he took up Hip Hop and Swing Dancing, eventually teaching Swing, which led him to meet his wife. He and his wife have two sons and two daughters, and the family still dances the Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing together.
