He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in 1987 and spent the next two decades practicing internal medicine in a busy private Harford County setting. He earned board certification in internal medicine and became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2018. Baltimore Magazine named him a Top Doc in Internal Medicine and Concierge Medicine in 2016.

Dr. Lynch built substantial leadership experience alongside his clinical work. He served as Chairman of the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Department of Medicine for thirteen years and held the role of Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Upper Chesapeake Health Systems from 2011 to 2016.
