About

Igor V. Persidsky, MD, PhD is a fourth-generation physician and board-certified internist who has focused on geriatric and homebound care since beginning his training in 1981. He earned his medical degree with honors from National Medical University in Kiev, Ukraine, and spent nine years at the 250-bed geriatric hospital of the Institute of Gerontology in Kiev. There he progressed from resident and fellow to attending staff, while also earning a PhD in Cardiology from the Ukrainian Institute of Cardiology in 1987. He held an Assistant and Associate Professorship of Research at the Institute of Gerontology before relocating to the United States.

Dr. Persidsky completed a second internal medicine residency at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, earning board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1996. He began practicing in the Long Beach area that same year and launched his solo house call practice in 1999. He founded House Calls Medical Corporation in 2004 and served as Medical Director for Pacific Hospice Care and Charity Hospice Care Services through 2015. Since 2011, he has served on staff at the internationally recognized Department of Hyperbaric Medicine at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He holds a Visiting Professorship of Social Work at CSU Long Beach and a voluntary faculty position at USC School of Medicine. His research on topics including Vitamin D deficiency in homebound elderly and sarcopenia has taken him to international conferences across Europe, Australia, and North America.
