Gerald P. Corcoran, MD grew up in Massachusetts and earned his Bachelor of Science from Boston College. He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington. His post-graduate training took place in the United States Navy, with an internship at Saint Albans Naval Hospital in New York and a residency at Jacksonville Naval Hospital in Florida.
While stationed at Naval Station Hospital Argentina in Newfoundland, Dr. Corcoran served as Commanding Officer. In that role, he delivered Family Medicine, Obstetrics, Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Surgical Services to all military personnel and their dependents. That experience built a clinical range few family physicians share. Back in Massachusetts, he served as a Clinical Instructor and Associate Professor in Family Practice at all four state medical schools: UMass, Harvard, Boston University, and Tufts. He holds the designation of Charter Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.
