Dr. Elizabeth 'Betsey' Sorensen has wanted to be a doctor since she was four years old. She grew up outside Houston and studied biochemistry at Rice University before heading to Atlanta for medical school. She graduated cum laude from Emory University School of Medicine in 2003. Her residency in family medicine took place at MAHEC in Asheville, NC, where she also completed additional training in sports medicine.

After residency, Dr. Sorensen spent five years in private practice in Asheville before relocating to Austin. She chose family medicine for the long-term patient relationships it builds and the variety of care it demands. She holds a deep passion for health goal planning, chronic disease management, and preventive care for patients of all ages. Outside the office, she enjoys yoga, cooking, and running. She lives in Austin with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
