About
Dr. Crystal Skinner co-founded Tushka Direct Primary Care with a conviction that strong patient relationships are the core of good medicine. A Tuscaloosa native, she earned two Bachelor of Science degrees and a Master's Degree from the University of Alabama before attending UAB School of Medicine. She then completed her Family Medicine residency at The University of Alabama right in Tuscaloosa, where she has built her career.
Dr. Skinner holds board certification in Family Medicine, earned in 2021. She treats the full range of conditions Family Medicine brings, from hypertension and diabetes to anxiety, ADHD, and thyroid disease. She is passionate about knowing her patients as individuals, not just as cases. Outside the clinic, she lives in Tuscaloosa with her husband Daniel and their three children, Ruth Ann, Nora Cate, and Lane. Most weekends, the family spends their time at the softball field cheering on the girls, who both play travel ball with Softball Country.
