Chelsea Berges, DO, brings rural-focused family medicine training and a genuine passion for whole-family care to McAlester Direct Primary Care. She grew up in a small Iowa town where her father practiced medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University after spending two years at Oklahoma Christian University competing in track and field, including the heptathlon. She went on to complete her medical degree at UNT Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where she enrolled in the Rural Track program, which provides additional preparation for physicians who intend to practice in rural communities.
Dr. Berges completed her family medicine residency through the OSU Family Medicine Program, finishing in McAlester. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and welcomes complex diagnostic challenges alongside routine visits. Outside of work, she raises guineas, chickens, and Texas Longhorns on a small acreage and stays active through running and hunting.
