About

Dr. Carrie Carter earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and her medical degree from UT Southwestern School of Medicine in 2001. UT Southwestern recognized her with the Rolland Reynolds Award, given to the medical student with the best bedside manner. Before starting residency, she spent a year in Peru teaching public health and helping establish a medical clinic. She completed her internship and residency at UT Southwestern and earned board certification in Internal Medicine in 2005.

After training, Dr. Carter joined the UT Southwestern faculty, consulting surgical subspecialists on complex post-operative patients and teaching medical students and residents at Parkland Hospital. In 2006, she left academic medicine to pursue primary care at the Harvill-Tschumy Clinic at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She joined the E. Barrow Medical Group in 2011, becoming part of the first concierge internal medicine group in Dallas. Eleven years of refining that model led her to found CC:MD in 2022.
