Dr. Carol Martin built her commitment to seniors long before she entered medicine. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, she spent a year with the Vincentian Service Corps in Washington, DC, caring for low-income seniors through Emmaus Services for the Aging. That experience shaped her career path.

She earned her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2003, where she helped found a student chapter of the American Geriatrics Society. Her residency in Internal Medicine took place at Washington University in St. Louis. She then completed her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Saint Louis University. After fellowship, she cared for frail seniors in a PACE program in inner city St. Louis, then transitioned into private practice Internal Medicine with a strong geriatric focus. She relocated to Great Falls, Virginia in 2018 and served on the hospitalist and Geriatric Medicine Consult services at INOVA Fairfax Hospital before founding her own practice in 2020. Dr. Martin holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine. She maintains memberships in the American Geriatrics Society, the American College of Physicians, the Catholic Medical Association, and the American Academy of Home Care Medicine.
