Dr. Bruce Jung studied biochemistry at the University of Illinois before earning his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine at North Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley, Colorado, a program affiliated with the University of Colorado. He joined a Family Medicine group in Barbourville, Kentucky in 1991 and relocated to Corbin in 1999 to support a rural residency training program co-sponsored by the University of Kentucky and Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Over his career, Dr. Jung has served as Medical Director of a private group practice, Chief of Staff of Knox County Hospital, and a faculty member for a rural Family Medicine residency program. He co-founded Grace Community Health Center before opening The Doc Shoppe in January 2013. His clinical interests include minor operative procedures, ultrasonography, and pediatric care. He has spoken at national conferences on direct primary care and appeared on the MoneyWise national radio program. Dr. Jung has participated in medical mission trips to Mexico and Romania. He and his wife Melissa have been married for over 36 years and have five daughters, two sons, and four grandsons.
