He graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in 1993 with a specialty in Internal Medicine. He then relocated his wife and four daughters to Portland, Oregon to complete his residency at Providence Portland Hospital. His peers and faculty honored him as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine during his final rotation years.
In 1997, Dr. Savelli brought his family to Tifton, Georgia and opened Tift Internal Medicine Center, LLC.
