Dr. Jacobus follows the principle that prevention is better than cure. He builds individualized wellness plans for each patient based on comprehensive annual exams and advanced lab testing. He treats patients as extended family and delivers care in a compassionate, unhurried environment.

Dr. Jacobus earned his medical degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He then completed his internship and first residency year at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He finished his Family Medicine residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana in 1991.

Yes. Dr. Jacobus holds board certification as a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and as a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He also maintains Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.

Dr. Jacobus holds affiliations at Pinnacle Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, St. Anthony Medical Center, and Symphony, all serving the Crown Point and northwest Indiana region.

Dr. Jacobus has practiced family medicine for close to 30 years. He has been serving patients in the Crown Point, Indiana area throughout that time.

Yes. As part of the MDVIP Wellness Program, Dr. Jacobus uses state-of-the-art lab testing through Cleveland HeartLab. He uses those results to build each patient's personalized wellness plan.

Dr. Jacobus founded Vital Injection Medical Missions in 1994 and continues to serve as its Medical Director. The organization conducts medical missions to underserved countries. He also serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Lake County Women's Center and holds other long-standing medical director roles in the community.
