She later earned a second bachelor's degree in basic science from Portland State University.

Dr. Gillcrist completed her medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University, then trained in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center. She spent 15 years as a primary care physician with Providence Medical Group before founding AIM Health in 2016.
