About

Dr. Allen M. Hoffman earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Emory College of Emory University in 1977 and his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his internship at the University of Florida in Gainesville and finished his residency training at Emory Affiliated Hospitals in 1984. That same year, he earned board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. After completing his training, his desire to serve underserved communities led him to Albany, Georgia, where he joined the United States Public Services Corps. In 1986, he and his wife Betsy settled in Marietta, where he has practiced internal medicine ever since.

Dr. Hoffman belongs to both the Cobb County Medical Society and the Medical Association of Georgia. He centers his care philosophy on time: building genuine patient relationships, understanding individual health goals, and giving every visit whatever time it requires. He takes a strong interest in preventive care and nutrition, and he recommends low-carb dietary approaches for metabolic health. Outside the office, he is an avid traveler, hiker, gardener, and amateur meteorologist. He and Betsy live in Kennesaw with their chocolate Labrador, Toby. Their two grown children, Allen Jr. and Michell, both work as educators.
