Dr. Allen Greenlee earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Services in 1982. He completed his internship and residency in Primary Care and Internal Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Center. A childhood spent watching his father practice psychiatry drew him toward medicine and the goal of helping people directly.
From 1985 to 1991, Dr. Greenlee served as an attending physician for roughly 2,000 patients at the GWU Department of Health Care Sciences. He also taught third- and fourth-year medical students as an Assistant Professor. Between 1989 and 1991, he directed the Division of Adult Medicine, overseeing half the Department's clinical operations and budget. He also led the Department's Total Quality Improvement Program. Since 1991, Dr. Greenlee has practiced as an internist in private practice. He has contributed to the practice's Medicare Patient-Centered Medical Home Program since 1992. He also serves as an Associate Professor for medical students in GWU's Longitudinal Primary Care Clinic. Outside medicine, he restores antique cars, plays piano, and spends time with his grandchildren.
